That's where we meet and depart from... the Firehall has lots of parking. We unload and get geared up ready to leave as a group. Departure time from the Firehall is 9:30 am... off we go! For those coming from the city and coming up Beaver Bank Road, you can meet us there at the Firehall and be ready to roll for 9:30 am.
Before we depart the Firehall, we'll all meet together and go over a few details of what the day may be. We also pass a Xmas stocking for donations to our "Marine Riders Trails Association Annual Xmas Toy Drive" that is up and coming, on November 28-20, 2024, For the "Walton Whopper Fun Run" ride to Walton, we don't charge any registration fee, but a donation to the Toy Drive Xmas Stocking is appreciated.
This should be a nice "Late Fall Day Ride" and is a varied fun run on mixed trails, "k" class roads, logging trails, fields, dirt tracks, and of course a few puddles. For the brave, strong willed, The "I know I can do it riders", there is a wet muddy area that will test your skills to the max... this has only been achieved by a select few... Could this be you?
Once we get to Walton, we'll have lunch at the Walton Pub. They have a full menu, so if you think you can handle the famous Walton Whopper, then do it!. It's an awesome burger. If you decide not to have the Walton Whopper, then there are lots of other very tasty choices to take care of your appetite. So bring your wallet. After lunch, we'll start our trek back, doing a different loop and taking various different trails so there's more to see.
This run averages 110 Km's. It is a full day run. And if your machine is hard on gas, don't forget to bring some, although there is a (self serve, self pay) set of pumps in Walton. Dress warm and to the weather, as the weather in that area is different from what is here. Sometimes better, and sometimes worse. Bring snacks and refreshments to have, while we do a few trail stops.
This is open to all Association members, friends and families. Anyone can come ride with us. Just remember that all OHV rules apply. This is a rain or shine event, so there is no rain date scheduled.
See you all at our "Walton Whopper Fun Run!"
